Getting to know me and how we can work together.
Just like the wild primroses, humans are fragile but also resilient.
Time and time again, in my previous career and now as a counsellor, I have witnessed how just being seen and heard by another human being, being accepted without judgement, can be the start of a journey back to healing.
It might be time to consider talking to someone who is trained to listen on a deeper level, with empathy and respectfully, so you can talk about you, just you and your needs, for a change. In a safe, non-threatening space, in a therapeutic relationship created by you with a trained therapist, you feel comfortable with.
We can work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, so you may begin to:
I also have an interest in working with education-based trauma. People who have experienced a difficult time in school can become frightened learners and have difficulty progressing through school, college or university, coping with exams or assessments or realising their full potential. If this has been your experience and you feel it might be helpful to talk about it in a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic space, we can work together to explore what is holding you back, what makes you fearful in learning environments and try to find ways you might support yourself to have a more positive experience as a learner.
I also bring my own experience of working with the Irish diaspora to counselling, having left Ireland as a teenager in search of employment. I have a keen awareness of the sense of loss and longing for home, the feeling of otherness, the grieving and struggle with identity that comes with missing one’s homeland that has to be worked through as you strive to make a new life in your adopted homeland.
And the loneliness and burden of trauma you may be carrying if you had to leave your country of origin as a result of conflict, or other difficult life circumstances.
My garden therapy room is a quiet, confidential space, a cosy and safe little nook with comfortable chairs and cushions, and a soft throw for added comfort. A calm space where you can take the time to stop and reflect, sheltered yet surrounded by nature just outside the windows.
âIt is in the shelter of each other that the people live.â (Old Irish proverb)
If you prefer to meet online, that is also available. The choice is yours and we can always review if you change your mind.

As a lover of nature I enjoy walks and being outdoors, watching the seasons change and blend into one another. This connection with the natural world reminds me that all things pass and change happens, gently, or sometimes not so gently, in the natural world and in our life cycles.
I bring this wisdom to my therapy practice, where I aim to create a listening space that supports people to find their own innate resilience and capacity for growth and healing.
As a person-centred counsellor, I support people to work at their own pace. I will listen carefully and reflect back what I hear you say, I will check carefully with you as we go so we are working at your pace and with your real life experience, thoughts and feelings.
Carl Rogers, the founder of Person-Centred therapy, once said:
âPeople are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them be… I donât try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfoldsâ.
I look forward to meeting you and witnessing the real, whole you unfold.
